Unfinished

Clocks that hang
from the ceiling of the sky
Time moves slower
when there’s birds flying by
There’s a certain uncertainty
when you’re up that high
Here’s to hoping from up there
you can see with heaven’s eye

I didn’t turn into a lady
with all of the things
I didn’t choose family, career,
or even a porch swing
But the things that chose me,
they got me good
And brought me to be
what I didn’t think I could

Free.

I’m not sure what happened here. It’s obviously not finished, and apparently two thoughts. I started with the idea that I would challenge myself to find a way to name all of my favorite things without having it sound like Maria’s ‘favorite things.’ Although I do like raindrops on roses.

But then isn’t it funny that in a poem to myself about all the things that I like most, that even here I feel like I should defend where I am, and tell you that I’m good. I really am. I do not have all of my favorite things yet. Pretty sure this is my entire thought, or so it is all that I can find for you today. Unfinished. Unfinished.

Good talk.

She’s a different kind of artist, this one. And with so much beauty to share.

Oh here, I found the end of my thought. Thanks Natalie Cole, and an Orange Colored Sky. Flash, bam, and holy cow, Batman!

And look, I get that you’re busy. If you don’t have all 2.5 minutes to listen to something that might make your heart a little lighter, that’s cool. Skip ahead to 00:42, if you’re just trying to find the point here.
